Today, President Barack Obama spoke to the students at Georgetown University to challenge the next generation to meet the challenge of reducing our dependence on oil. He put forth a plan to reduce our daily import of foreign oil by a third by 2020 by:
- Increasing our domestic production of oil in a responsible and sound manner
- Increasing our investment and production of next generation biofuels
- Increasing our investment in alternative modes of transportation including electric vehicles
In order to support new electric transportation, we need to find cleaner sources of power generation such as wind, solar, natural gas and more nuclear power.
Watch the video and learn more about Obama’s plans to help us reduce our dependence on oil to make our country more secure.
