Spark's most basic use is as a portable light switch. You can turn your lights on and off from anywhere – on the couch, at the office, sitting at the beach – and Spark Sockets are dimmable so you can use them to create the ideal mood lighting.
But apps are what make Spark fun. And powerful. Through apps you can set up a "sunrise" alarm clock that turns on your lights slowly to help you wake up in the morning, use a vacation app to turn on your lights randomly while you're away so it looks like someone's home, set your lights to blink as a notification that you’ve received a text message, or a million other things."
As of February 2013, Spark says they plan on delivering in Q3 of 2013. If you plan to use the Spark Socket as a dimmer, make sure the bulb you are using is capable of dimming.
