From the Honeywell Prestige 2.0 website:
"Connects to the Internet - Monitor and control your HVAC system over the Internet from a PC, smart phone or tablet (with Total Connect Comfort Services)".
Here is the link for the Total Connect comfort app . There is no monthly fee in order to control your thermostat over the internet but you will need the Honeywell RedLINK wireless gateway for this thermostat to communicate with the internet, something the Honeywell website does a very poor fact of highlighting.
When comparing costs, make sure you compare the cost of the thermostat and RedLINK wireless gateway. Also, when purchasing this thermostat, make sure you are purchasing the Prestige 2.0, not the Prestige HD which is not internet enabled.
There are several different model numbers in the Prestige 2.0 family, and the Honeywell website does a pretty poor job of explaining the differences. The model numbers are: YTHX9321R5000, YTHX9321R5030, YTHX9321R5012, YTHX9321R5079, YTHX9321R5003, YTHX9321R5061, THX9421R5005, THX9421R5013. The Amazon link below is for the YTHX9321R5079 model. The Honeywell product comparison tool may help, but they definitely need to improve the way they differentiate model numbers so consumers know what they are buying.
