Charging the MiEV on standard 120 V outlet would take 22.5 hours! But upgrading to a home charging station on 240 V would reduce that to 7 hours, and a level 3 quick charging station would only take 30 minutes to charge to 80%. From the Wired.com test drive of the iMiev: "There are two things about an i-MiEV (which stands for “Mitsubishi innovative Electric Vehicle”) that you notice right away the first time you drive one. First, its pickup is amazingly fast — sports car fast, really — which makes sense when you think about it, as there’s no chemical reaction to wait for. Second, it’s startlingly easy to drive way faster than you intend to, because the feedback you’re used to getting from engine noise and feel are completely absent." The MiEV is one of the lowest cost electric cars available, starting at $21,625 after the $7,500 Federal tax credit. SpecificationsSpecifications: A full listing of the iMiev specs can be found here.
