As you may be able to tell, Mapawatt is a big fan of Amory Lovins. He talks the talk, and walks the walk. Not only that, but he has been walking the walk for more than 30 years.
His energy efficient Colorado home was built in 1982 and the conservation technologies he used back then were many of the same ones you can use today in your home.
You may have never heard of TED (no, not The Energy Detective), but they have some amazing speakers. You can really get lost for a day just perusing their website and watching the presentations.
Two of my "sustainability all-stars" have spoken at some of their events and I highly recommend watching their talks.
If you don't have a programmable thermostat, then buy and install one!
So I'm going to try keep this list short, but it will be hard! While there are a TON of books out there in regards to being "green", this list is focused on books that can directly inspire the individual to be more sustainably minded in their everyday activities.

Saving heat from your dishwasher
Every month the bill from the power company comes in the mail (or hopefully to your e-mail so you save on pollution). This bill is usually tersely reviewed, paid, and then the whole thought of energy consumption that existed for 30 seconds while the bill was paid is moved to the back burner (pun intended) for another 29 days.
While it might sound "corporate"; in regards to this blog, "Resource Management" simply refers to the management of two things: Energy and Water. You might be able to deduce from our name that we were originally only focused on Energy (Watt). But as we got to thinkin', we realized we would be doing a disservice if we focused solely on Energy and not on Water (it is the most basic element of life after all!). Therefore, we kept the name Mapawatt because it just rolled off our tongue, but we will focus on both.
